Light Talkers
Thousands of found glass vials, held under tension within a fabricated steel ring, hang inside an abandoned train station in a historic amusement park, surrounded by fourteen found windows. Onto the vials Ginsberg projects a short film of himself walking through the woods in complete darkness, trying and failing to record fireflies. The installation became a signal sent back toward them, an attempt to lure the bioluminescent insects to the station. A projector can only show darkness by sending light, and fireflies hold a similar paradox: drawn to the dark of night, they search it for the light of another.
