What is Known, is Unknown

From the solo exhibition What is Known is Unknown Traver Gallery, Seattle, WA
August 3rd - 27th, 2016

Two spools hold roughly 300 pounds of glass each, wound from strands Ginsberg drew by hand and fed into a coiling machine he engineered for the work. The spools recall the industrial production of fiber optics, the glass behind global communication, and the networks that shape an increasingly mediated reality. Wound together, thousands of individual strands become a single mass whose interior can no longer be seen or counted. Each length carries the history of its making, yet the whole remains opaque. Suspended between order and entropy, the work holds what can be measured alongside what cannot.
